Eastern Oregon Rivers & Floating Info

There are a plethora of amazing floating opportunities in Eastern Oregon for packrafters including Wallowa alpine lakes, Anthony Lakes area, the Wallowa River, Grande Ronde River, Owyhee River, Minam River, Imnaha River and more.

  • Do your research when planning a trip. Call us for advice and more information.

  • Floating on the Minam River usually begins in May with high pushy flows and goes through early July when the river gets boney and low. Do not float after mid July as the river will be too low and salmon begin returning to spawn. From the lodge down there are ~10 miles of fast continuous class 2+ water with few eddies. Swims can be long, cold, and dangerous. We offer tours on both the lower and upper stretches of the river in June and early July.

  • Please help reduce damage to our our rivers ecosystems and the wildlife that live there by practicing Leave-no-Trace, utilizing WAG bag toilet systems to pack out waste, and adhering to local fire restrictions.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Thanks to GoWild for making a birthday celebration for a friend extra special. The food (dinner and breakfast) was truly amazing...I would hike many many miles just for the food alone! This is a great option for people who are looking for an extra special outdoor adventure. Did I mention the food was amazing?
